ASSISTANT COACH
Mike Yang, an AYTTO-certified coach, has 21 years of playing and 3 years of coaching experience. He won his first bronze trophy at age 10 in Taipei, Taiwan. After moving to the U.S. at 14, he switched to tennis due to a lack of table tennis clubs. At 28, after losing a company tournament, he returned to table tennis and trained under former U.S. National Champion Attila Malek. In 2014, Henrique Morimura invited Mike to train with him, teaching him not just drills but humility in coaching. Mike competed in the 2014 U.S. Nationals. After Attila retired in 2018, Coach Rudy became Mike’s mentor, instilling core Christian values. In 2021, Mike began coaching his 6-year-old son, Eleazar, and developed a passion for promoting table tennis in Brea. By 2023, he was coaching at Christ Lutheran School.
