HEAD COACH

Rudy Miranda, an ITTF certified coach, has 50 years of table tennis experience and 17 years of coaching. He still competes in local, national, and international tournaments, known for his “Beast” mode in Southern California. In his prime, Rudy was on Nicaragua’s national team, trained in China and Japan, and competed worldwide. Rudy has won many international events as well as local events. Rudy is a follower of Jesus Christ. Each September, Rudy returns to Nicaragua, bringing table tennis equipment for kids in need.


COACH

Richard Palm, an ITTF certified coach, has been a volunteer coach to basketball, football, volleyball in St. Justin K-8 school. He served in US Navy back in 70s and he was training as a boxer for 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. He got into severe motorcycle accident 2 weeks before 1982 US Olympic Trials. He got severed paralyzed and lost basic motor skills. His medical doctor suggested him to play Table Tennis. Ever since, he obsessed to this Olympic sport which has become the sport in his own family. Two of his daughters competed in US Olympic Team Trial back in 2020.

ASSISTANT COACH

Mike Yang, an AYTTO and USATT certified coach, has 21 years of playing and 5 years of coaching experience. He won his first bronze trophy at age 10 in Taipei, Taiwan. After moving to the U.S. at 14, he switched to play tennis due to a lack of table tennis clubs. At 28, after losing a company tournament, he returned to table tennis and trained under former U.S. National Champion Attila Malek. In 2014, Henrique Morimura invited Mike to train with him, teaching him not just drills but humility in playing. Mike competed in the 2014 U.S. Nationals. After Coach Attila retired in 2018, Coach Rudy became Mike’s mentor, instilling core Christian values. In 2020, Mike began coaching his 5-year-old son, Eleazar, and developed a passion for promoting table tennis in Brea, north Orange County, California. By 2023, he was coaching at Christ Lutheran School until the summer of 2025. He had taken kids to many local tournaments as well as US National tournament 2025. In the Spring of 2025, Coach Mike won his first silver medal in US at Meikelsjohn North America Senior 40+ Open. Three months after, his son Eleazar won very first medal in the 2025 Los Angeles Table Tennis Open in his rating group.
